I am a textile artist who has lived in the Scottish Highlands since 1997. I started painting using wool and silk fibres to recreate my own interpretation of the surrounding countryside.
Using photography, painting and found objects, I have been able to experiment with light, colour and texture through felt-making. The loose layering and teasing out of the fibres result in unpredictable changes in colour intensity and dimension.
I love the imperfections in felt-making. I never really know exactly how my work might turn out. I like the viewer to make up their own mind about what they are seeing.
